This site is dedicated to the living memory of Sandy McNair. Sandy was
born in mid-Argyll in Scotland and grew up on Stroneskar farm, near
Ford, with his brother Duncan and his parents Alasdair and Sheena. He
went to school in the nearby town of Kilmartin and then moved to
Glasgow in 1989 where he worked toward his B.Sc. in Technology and
Business Studies at the University of Strathclyde.
Upon gaining a 1st class honours degree, Sandy worked briefly as an
analyst for the Royal Bank of Scotland and then moved to London,
joining Arthur Andersen as a consultant. When Andersen was later
aquired by Deloitte, Sandy stayed on at the company and eventually
rose to the position of director in Deloitte Consulting's Enterprise
Applications division.
In July of 2004, Sandy married Fleur Sexton at Land's End, and in
December of 2007 they had a baby boy, Ross Milo Alexander
McNair. Tragically, Sandy suffered a fatal aortic aneurysm a few
months later, on 12 March 2008. Returning home for the final time, he
was buried by his family and friends at Kilmartin Church on Thursday
20 March 2008.
